The third big wave of infections runs over the world, kills thousands and thousands of people and some crazy and selfish people just think about themselves.
In Brussels about 10.000 people celebrate and get drunk in a park. They don’t care about distance and following rules. The police has to be violent to get the people out of the park. Later that day, many people complain about police brutality. Unbelievable in my eyes. How is it possible that some haven’t understood the situation? They think just about themselves and that the government wants to have full control.
In Kassel, Germany, a young woman compared herself with a famous German resistance-fighter in the Nazi-time. How can that be possible? How can somebody even think about being in the same situation as people in the 1930’s? I know that this situation is new and scary for everyone, but I have to be honest- I don’t feel pressure or see mass-killing from the government. The only mass-killing I see, is the ignorance of the people, who don’t take the rules seriously. Our governments try their very best. They worked together, spent an unbelievable big amount of money on the development of vaccine and tried to stop the virus from spreading as good as possible. Of course they made mistakes, but doing everything right in an unknown situation is impossible. They are just humans. We should be glad to live in Western-countries, where the government cares about the population.
If we look at the other side of the world, we see pain and suffering. Especially in Brasil, South America, where president Jair Bolsonaro thinks that the Coronavirus is just a simple flu. I think over 50.000 infections and an unbelievable big number of deaths show that this virus isn’t just a normal flu. The health care system can not carry this big amount of ill people anymore. People are dying due to too little respirators and vaccine. Bolsonaro started with buying vaccine way too late. The people suffer, but Bolsonaro tells them to “stop crying”. If we’ll see an ongoing increase of infections, there will be a serious danger of new mutations, which will be even more dangerous. Our vaccine could probably not work against these kind of mutations.
That’s why we, the Western countries, should not just care about ourselves. If the own population is vaccinated but there is a new dangerous mutation of the virus, it could be like a new pandemic. The countries should rather work together than against each other. The government shouldn’t stop corporations from exporting vaccine. Otherwise we’ll see a “war” on vaccine and important goods, which are used to produce these vaccine.
We can just end the pandemic if we work together. On a large scale. Rich help poor and the poor try to do their best in stopping the virus from spreading. Everyone should follow the rules from their government and get vaccinated if they have the chance to. That’s our only chance how we can get out of this difficult situation.
